Gross Wages Definition

The amount of an employee earnings before taxes and other deductions are taken from the paycheck. If a person is a salaried employee, their gross wages are the amount of their annual salary. Hourly employees will calculate gross wages by multiplying the number of hours worked by the hourly wages.
