An insurance policy that provides a level of liability protection for employers from claims of discrimination that are made by the employee. This includes protection from current, former, and prospective employees.

Employment practices liability insurance (EPLI) protects the employer from employee claims of discrimination and violations of the Equal Employment Opportunity laws. It allows the employer to protect against claims of discrimination for age, race, disability, religion, sex, and other defined conditions.

Additionally, this type of insurance product, which may be purchased alongside other forms of liability protection, protects against other types of employee-related lawsuits. This includes employment-related allegations, wrongful termination lawsuits, and sexual harassment claims.
